When Ela, an Albanian-American mother and educator, searched for bilingual resources to teach her child Albanian in an engaging way, she found a surprising gap. “There wasn’t anything like Ms. Rachel—but for Albanian,” she explains. That gap led to the creation of Little Shqipe Learners, a passion project turned platform dedicated to helping young children learn Albanian (and English) through songs, stories, and playful learning.

“I wanted kids like mine to grow up feeling proud of their roots,” Ela says. “Language is identity. And our little ones deserve to hear their heritage in fun, modern ways.”

From TikTok to a Growing Community

Starting from scratch, Ela faced the daunting challenge of building awareness. “Many families didn’t even know this type of content existed,” she shares. With limited resources, she wore every hat—from scripting and filming to editing and promoting. Social media, particularly TikTok and Instagram, have become powerful tools for reaching Albanian families worldwide. The community began to grow, not just in views but in voice.

More Than Bilingual—It’s Cultural

What makes Little Shqipe Learners stand out isn’t just the language it’s the heart. The content blends early childhood education strategies with the warmth of Albanian family values. Whether it’s traditional lullabies, familiar holiday songs, or messages filled with cultural pride, Ela’s work reflects a deep-rooted love for heritage.

Adapting with Intention

As attention spans shortened and content trends evolved, Ela embraced innovation. “I started making short Reels and TikToks, showing learning moments in under a minute. I even added interactive skits and parent-submitted clips,” she says. Soon, she’ll be launching printables and coloring pages to expand learning beyond the screen.

Giving Back by Lifting Others Up

Community is at the core of Little Shqipe Learners. Ela frequently features children from Albanian families in her content and collaborates with other educators to amplify their shared mission. Her inbox is filled with messages from grateful parents, and her goal is simple: “I want families to feel seen.”

Looking Ahead

Ela dreams of growing Little Shqipe Learners into a full educational platform, including books, digital tools, and even live shows. “This is just the beginning,” she says, with quiet confidence.

Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

“Start before you’re ready,” Ela says. “Let your culture guide you, it’s your superpower. Small beginnings can lead to a big impact. And don’t be afraid to ask your community for help.”

Leaving a Legacy

Being a business owner has changed Ela. “I’ve learned resilience, creativity, and the power of purpose,” she reflects. “It’s significant to create something that honors the past while building the future.”

With Little Shqipe Learners, Ms. Ela is doing more than teaching children how to count or sing; she’s nurturing cultural pride, one video at a time.
