Cooking out of necessity for her family, she learned by observing her mother and experimenting in the kitchen. “I started cooking around the age of 10,” she recalls. “Family members would compliment my dishes, especially when I made byrek. I loved helping my mom prepare for New Year’s Eve celebrations, crafting traditional dishes like baklava alongside festive new creations.”
Her Albanian roots laid the foundation for her culinary journey, blending tradition with innovation. Today, her cooking reflects influences from Albania, France, and the United States, where she has spent much of her life.
From Architect to Food Blogger
While Albana’s professional background is in architecture, her passion for food led her to create UncomplicatedChef in 2019. By 2021, she transformed it into a business, combining her artistic sensibilities with her culinary creativity.
“I’m not a trained chef,” she shares. “Life itself has been my school. Cooking for my family allowed me to hone my skills, and a friend once described my style as ‘casual chic.’ I think that perfectly encapsulates what I aim to bring to my blog—easy, elegant recipes anyone can make.”
