Valbella

Valbella is an upscale Italian restaurant group known for Northern Italian cooking and seafood, with handmade pastas, dry-aged steaks and fresh fish. The original Valbella opened in 1991 at 1309 East Putnam Avenue in Riverside, in the town of Greenwich, Connecticut, and the group also runs Valbella At The Park at 3 Bryant Park in Midtown Manhattan.

Valbella has long had team members of Albanian descent in its management and dining rooms, and it appears in ALB Connection's guide to Albanian-owned and Albanian-connected restaurants in Connecticut.

The Riverside restaurant is in a Victorian building. Its website says Valbella has been in the Riverside section of Greenwich for over thirty-three years.

Guests can dine in one of three dining rooms, in the wine cellar or on the patio, which the website says has greenery, water features and fire wells. The menu, written in Italian, is divided into antipasti, insalata, pasta, secondi, dishes from the grill (dalla griglia) and dolci, with dishes such as burrata, grilled octopus, pappardelle bolognese, veal scaloppine, dry-aged shell steak and tiramisu.

The restaurant hosts private events. The website lists the wine cellar (up to sixteen guests at a heated granite table, or up to fifty for a larger dinner), the main dining room (up to ninety guests), the Salon (seating up to forty, with patio access) and the Corporate Room (seating up to ninety). Reservations are taken through OpenTable and are required for parties of six or more.
