Shoqata e Bjeshkatareve Prishtina
Overview
The Mountaineering Society “Prishtina” was founded in 1948 under the name “Gërmia” by the mountaineers of that time. It got the name “Gërmia” because the city of Pristina had the only mountain closest to it, Gërmia. During the 70s, the name was changed from the “Gërmia” Riding-Skiing Society to the “Prishtina” Riding-Skiing Society. Later in the 80s, the skiers formed their own Society, while the skiers formed the society under the name of the “Prishtina” Mountaineering Society, which they still maintain today. During these years, the members of the Society have participated in many meetings, both local and international, where they have reaped successes.
