Jonel Metaj is a Chicago based attorney with 9 years of experience in personal injury law. He specializes in motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents, slip and falls, medical malpractice, and work injuries. He is currently a litigation attorney with Disparti Law Group in Chicago.  

Jonel Metaj was born in Albania and moved to Chicago with his parents when he was nine years old. He watched his dad struggle to keep the family afloat while recovering from work injuries, unaware of his legal rights. Driven by this experience, Jonel decided to pursue a career in personal injury law.

Jonel attended DePaul University College of Law while working full time and graduated in 2015. He earned CALI awards (highest grade in his class) for Litigation Strategy: Civil, Negotiations, and Fact Investigations.

In 2023, Jonel successfully overturned a grant of summary judgment at the First District Appellate Court on behalf of his client, a pedestrian who was injured by a hit-and-run vehicle in Galarza v. Direct Auto Insurance Co.

The case was appealed by the insurance company to the Illinois Supreme Court.  Jonel successfully argued the case before the Illinois Supreme Court, who affirmed the decision of the Appellate Court, ensuring coverage for pedestrians and bicyclist who are injured by hit-and-run and uninsured motorists.
