Overview
The Secretariat of Education and Culture of the Executive Council of Kosovo on February 25, 1967 took the decision to establish the Prishtina History Entity and sent it to the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo for approval. The beginnings of the research-scientific work of the study of the history of Kosovo we find in January 1946 when the Section for language, folklore and history was formed.
In 1956, the Commission for History was formed, which worked until December 31, 1966. The Commission had focused its work on the study of the Labor Movement and the National Liberation War (1941-1945). In 1967, the Institute of History was founded as a scientific and professional institution. with these sections: the Section of the Labor Movement, of the LNC and of Socialist Construction; The Early History of Kosovo Section and the Archive and Documentation Section.
The founder of the History Entity was the Assembly of Kosovo, which was determined by Article 3 of Decision no. 575 of April 20, 1967.
