Overview
The Albanological Institute is an independent public research-scientific institution of special national importance, which deals with the study of the spiritual and material culture of Albanians. It develops its activity based on the Law on the Albanian Institute and the Law on Research-Scientific Activity of Kosovo.
The Albanological Institute has as its object the research-scientific work in the fields of Albanianology: linguistics, literature, history, folklore and ethnology. He develops his activity by researching albanological problems in the field and archives, studying them and publishing the achieved scientific results. It organizes sessions, symposia, conferences and round tables where various issues in the fields of Albanian sciences are addressed. The leading bodies of the Institute are: the Scientific Council, as a scientific-professional body, the Governing Council, as a collegial body of leadership and the Director of the Institute. There is the archive, the library, the exhibit hall, the reading room, the scientific hall and the workers’ offices where independent research-scientific work is possible.
