The Faculty of Philosophy is the first faculty in Kosovo, founded on October 30, 1960, ten years before the founding of the University of Pristina itself. This institution initially consisted of the chairs of Albanology, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Albanian Language and Literature and Serbo-Croatian Language and Literature, before the chairs of English Language and Literature and Russian Language and Literature were opened in 1961. A year later, the Chairs of History, Geography and Pedagogy were added to it.
