Overview
The Italian Embassy in Pristina was established in 2008, year of the declaration of Kosovo’s independence.
The Head of Mission is H.E. Ambassador Antonello De Riu.
Based on the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations dated April 18th, 1961, Embassy’s functions, among others, include the following:
representing Italy in the Kosovo;
protecting in Kosovo the interests of Italy and of its nationals, within the limits permitted by international law;
negotiating with the Government of Kosovo;
ascertaining conditions and developments in Kosovo and reporting back to the Government of Italy;
promoting friendly relations between Italy and Kosovo, and developing their economic, cultural and scientific relations.
